Mango Bay Beach Resort chooses Softbrands for representation and distribution services

May 11, 2007 - SoftBrands, Inc., a global supplier of enterprise application software, announced that Karyon, its distribution service provider (DSP) solution, has been implemented by Mango Bay Resorts.

Karyon provides Mango Bay Resorts the tools and resources to maximize the volume and profitability of online reservations. Karyon provides hands-on, high-touch service to its member properties, with a strategic distribution advisor assigned to each hotel to help develop consistent, unique rate and distribution strategies and to deploy the necessary tactics to achieve success.

"Karyon afforded Mango Bay Beach Resorts the opportunity to increase our market share at all of our boutique resorts by increasing our visibility on the Internet. Our relationship has extended our reach to countless reservation channels with simplicity and ease. Karyon's dedicated team of professionals and single point of contact made the entire process, from inquiry through implementation, simple and painless. It's comforting to know that we can always contact the same person who guided us through implementation with any questions," said Fabio Pari, vice president of resort management, Mango Bay Management.

"Karyon is very pleased with the relationship with Mango Bay Resorts. It proves to the marketplace that having a services group that understands the needs of not just the largest management groups, but can show a measurable difference of exposure and revenues in medium to small boutique hotels. Karyon strategic distribution advisors understand that many hotels do not have the resources or capacity to deploy complex revenue management strategies, including the ability to be effective in the global distribution systems, we provide the areas of expertise to help level the playing field," said Gregg Hopkins, vice president and general manager of Karyon. "It is the goal of our advisors to really know and understand the hotels that they represent and to effectively guide our members in the strategies that should be the most beneficial."

Powered by SoftBrands' Internet-native central reservations and Web portal products, Karyon gives its members the ability to optimize revenue with complete control over their own inventory while at the same time, helping to reduce operating costs while increasing bookings.

"This service provides SoftBrands with a significant point of differentiation in the hospitality market," said Steve VanTassel, SoftBrands senior vice president, hospitality. "SoftBrands' solutions already help our customers effectively manage both independent and centrally operated hotels as well as their restaurant, spa, marina and golf operations. With the addition of Karyon, hotels can now also better use our solutions to profitably drive demand. We are excited to offer this wide range of hospitality services all backed by a single, global 24x7 support organization. "
